Currently occupied by a launderette at the ground floor and a 3 bedroom masionette on the upper levels, the owner of this 3 storey terraced townhouse approached us to submit a planning application to split the upper masionette into 2 separate dwellings. At the rear of the site, a standalone 1 bedroom house is also proposed where an existing garage is currently sited.
As various similar development planning applications were refused previously, we were mindful of the concerns raised by the planning authority. With this planning application, we took a very direct approach and engaged the planning officers in an open dialogue addressing all the concerns raised. The planners were receptive to our open approach and after some minor tweaks to our design, planning consent was granted in February 2017.
